Challenge accepted. Ismail grew up in the suburbs of DC, and liked it so much that he stayed for college. Go Terps! After graduating from University of Maryland, he learned about human health from a few different sides - first in hospitals and clinics, and then eventually in research at the one-and-only Johns Hopkins University. But when funding ran out unexpectedly, it took many jobs with it, and Ismail learned the hard way the value of having valuable skills. After much introspection, investigation, and episodes of Shark Tank, he started down the road to entrepreneurship.
Eventually Ismail teamed up with a techy friend to start a business, and he was introduced to the world of code. His techy friend explained to him that you could use code to build applications or maintain databases if you needed, but it was really all about working creatively on challenging problems that exist in every industry. First Ismail said, "...interesting." Then, he started teaching himself how to do it.
Now he's a web developer at the intersection of business, technology, and health, trying to add value to the world one website at a time.
Myers-Briggs tells me I'm an ENTP, and based on my career and workplace habits it's hard to disagree. I love working with others and learning from them due to an ongoing quest for self-improvement. I also deflate when shackled by process, opting instead for flexibility and freedom to operate my own way. And with space to flourish, I bring vitality, fresh perspective, and can be a tremendous force for your team.
Sadly no mind-reading for me, but I do spend a lot of time thinking about...
[communication & behavior change] [business] [technology] [minimalism] [balance] [self-awareness] [self-understanding] [personal growth] [fundamentals of being human]
